Privacy policy

Effective 13 July 2026

PlanetPhD is a small, independent service. We collect the minimum needed to run it, we don't sell data, and we don't run advertising trackers. This page explains what we store and why, in plain language.

What we collect

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookie this site sets is a functional one used by site administrators to access the review queue.

How we use it

Your email address is used for exactly two things: the confirmation message when you sign up (double opt-in — nothing is sent until you confirm) and the weekly digest. Field and career stage are used only to pick which deadlines your digest leads with.

Who processes it

Emails are delivered by Postmark; the site and database are hosted on Microsoft Azure. Both act as processors on our behalf. We never sell or share your data with anyone else.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Every digest contains a one-click unsubscribe link, which stops all email immediately. If you'd like your record deleted entirely — or want a copy of what we hold — email hello@planetphd.com and we'll do it promptly. These rights apply to everyone, including under GDPR and similar laws.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it in the digest. Questions any time: hello@planetphd.com.
